At the Committee meeting last night we had a discussion about the Bonfire Rally. The discussion started in relation to low bookings, the costs of fireworks and the deadline for purchasing them.

It became apparent, that as a group we feel uncomfortable taking on the Health and Safety responsibilities connected with running this rally. Specifically, the letting off fireworks and the responsibility of ensuring the bonfire is safe. We also have the consideration of storing fireworks safely as they have to be ordered in advance.

As a consequence, we have taken the decision to cancel this rally in good time to allow members to make other plans for that weekend. We apologise for any disappointment this causes. Deposit refunds will be made in due course.
