It is my intention to provide regular Chairman updates throughout the year both on the website and on Facebook.
Here is the first...
October seen the change in Committee at the 62nd Annual AGM of the Derbyshire Centre Caravan and Motorhome Club. The AGM was well attended by 58 registered Derbyshire Members. It is always great to see members supporting the centre.
The 2024 committee line-up seen five committee continue with their service including three staying in the same positions i.e. Helen Wanless – Secretary, Simon Toplis – Treasurer and Rick Unwin – Social Secretary. Andrea Toplis has moved roles from Rally Secretary to Plaque Officer and myself from Webmaster to Chairman. We also are pleased to welcome five new members to committee i.e. Kim Bond – Rally Secretary, Denise Barber – Webmaster, Shaun Gascoyne – Equipment Officer, Craig Rolt – Assistant Equipment Officer and Dawn Rolt – Committee Member.
Also, at the AGM the past Chairman Lynn Smith presented her Charity “The Compassionate Friends” with a cheque for £2000 from her donations and collections she had raised over her two-year service.
We have had no rallies since the AGM, however, coming up we do have five rallies before the end of the year which are well supported including two CAMC Club sites, our Annual Bonfire & Fireworks Rally at Darley Moor along with our Christmas Party Rally at Weston on Trent and our New Year Rally at Cromford is sold out with waiting list.
We have opened all the 2024 rallies that have been confirmed and have marshals and I have sent a Facebook post out to try and fill the remaining ones and also encourage new marshals to come forward with help and support guaranteed for those will little or no experience.
I am looking forward to the forthcoming year ahead, it’s going to be a whole new experience for me acting as Chairman in my first term but after the overwhelming comments of support I am sure we have the backing of our members to help deliver a fun and enjoyable year of rallying.
Scott Wanless Chairman, Derbyshire Centre CAMC
