Four Acres, Bamford 16th - 18th May 2025

From 16th to 18th May, the Derbyshire Centre rallied at the beautiful Four Acres location near Bamford, right in the heart of the picturesque Hope Valley. With the recent spell of fine weather continuing, we were treated to sunny skies and unseasonably warm temperatures, perfect for exploring this stunning part of the Peak District.

A total of seventeen units joined us for the weekend, including visitors from the South Yorkshire and Yorkshire Pennine Centres. It was lovely to welcome our fellow ralliers and share this fantastic location with them.

Throughout the weekend, many took the opportunity to enjoy the wealth of walking routes in the surrounding hills and countryside. Others ventured into the nearby villages of Hathersage, Hope, and Castleton—always popular spots with plenty to offer in terms of scenery, local shops, pubs and cafés.

Saturday evening saw the sun still shining brightly across the top of the field late enough for a social get-together organised by our marshals. It also happened to be Eurovision night, so what better way to celebrate than with a Eurovision-themed quiz? In a fun twist of coincidence, two of the answers—Johnny Logan and John & Edward (Jedward) would have fitted in perfectly at the previous week's rally during the famous John’s quiz!

Adding to the evening’s entertainment was a “feely bags” competition. Twelve small cloth bags, each containing a mystery everyday object, were passed around for ralliers to guess the contents using only their sense of touch. It was a great laugh and brought out plenty of competitive spirit!

Thanks to our marshals for hosting a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable weekend in one of the most scenic areas we rally in. We look forward to returning again soon!
